3rd Annual Polar Barefoot Run - January 1, 2007

Well, no snow or ice once again for our annual Polar Barefoot Run. While some of us were disappointed in the mild, lower 40s F temps seeming to be unfitting for our fun run's namesake, it was most encouraging to see so many show up and to kick the year off right with a barefoot run. While it was advertised this year that participants could run with shoes or without, all runners present unlaced their shoes and ran either the half or the full mile barefoot. (Actually, a couple of folks even went further!)

As in years past, everyone enjoyed assorted drinks or beverages and a generous helping of black-eyed peas and ham after the fun run. It was a great time for munching and casual talk as we reflected on '06 and looked forward to another year. Some even made resolutions to give this barefoot running a fair shake and to try it some more throughout the upcoming year.

(Please Note: My apologies for not remembering everybody's names. Please send an email to barefootrick@barefootrunner.org and I will make sure to identify you in the pics below and to include anything you would like to say about the PB Fun Run in the report! Also, if you have any other pics that you would like to post on this report, send them on! Thanks!!)
