The Bare Soul: Reflections, Ruminations, and Recollections of God's Holy Word, Volume I
From the Back Cover ....
"The Bare Soul is a collection of weekly devotional writings compiled by “Barefoot Rick” Roeber over a period of several years. Many of these writings were inspired while out on his daily barefoot runs, which include life lessons from the author’s past and present. Barefoot Rick “bares his soul” as he draws parallels and examples from his own journey with the Lord while keeping it “real”. Grounded in scripture and rich with analogies, the author provides the reader a clear understanding of how we should order our lives before God. Topics discussed are relevant to anyone wanting a closer relationship with God in an ever-challenging world. This volume can be read in one sitting, or it can be savored daily for a period of a month. Either way, the truths within these pages will resonate in your heart and will “bare your own soul”, challenging you to a deeper walk with God.
“Barefoot Rick” Roeber is an avid barefoot runner and writer of The Bare Soul Weekly Devotional (http://thebaresoul.blogspot.com). He has ran dozens of barefoot marathons while raising funds for many worthy charities. He has been featured on FOX News, CNN, Good Morning America, and many other news outlets."
What Others are Saying About The Bare Soul …
“Rick inspired me in the truest sense of the word. As a new barefoot runner in the days when almost no one did such a thing, I was understandably apprehensive of what others might say or think as they beheld me careening sans shoes down the street. Through his web presence – and foot-printed t-shirt – Barefoot Rick gave me the confidence to keep running on my naked feet. Now, Rick inspires me to run again in a race infinitely more important. The words in this cheerful book will encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on the prize – Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith – and to run as to win the race. So open your heart, take off your shoes and prepare to stand on holy ground.”
- Daniel Howell (The Barefoot Professor), author of The Barefoot Book: 50 Great Reasons To Kick Off Your Shoes.

Forward to The Bare Soul: Reflections on Holiness, Volume Il …
The Bare Soul has become a highly
personal work for me due largely to the personal nature of the writings. In
these pages, I hope the reader will understand I am sharing part of my journey
on how the Lord continues to make me more into His image. My experiences are not
unlike many others who have traveled a similar road. However, God uses our
unique stories to personalize His truths. In my previous book, The Bare Soul:
Reflections, Ruminations, and Recollections of God’s Holy Word, Volume I, my
main intention was to help the reader understand a bit more of the heart of God
for their lives. In this volume, I desire to focus the attention on God’s
holiness and how He wishes us to order our lives. While both volumes speak to
this end, I hope this small book is like an arrow from God’s quiver that flies
directly to the heart of obedience toward God. In so doing, my hope is that
surrendered, obedient lives to the Lord will result in joyous, sanctified lives
of holiness.
As with my previous work, these 30 writings may be read in one sitting or daily
over the course of a month. Either way, my prayer is for the voice of the
Bridegroom to resonate within the heart of His bride as He draws us after Him in
our glorious pursuit of holiness.
The Father is worthy of offspring resembling His likeness. May hearts once led
astray and compromised know the joy of His continual presence as we submit once
again to His great love!
